Delete your account & data
You can delete your ScanVeer account yourself, from inside the app, in about a minute. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
In the app
- Open Account (bottom bar) → Privacy & legal → Delete account.
- Type your email address to confirm it is your account.
- Approve from the email we send you, or enter your password instead.
- Tap Delete my account. The account is deleted on the spot and the app clears its local data.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app installed, email privacy@scanveer.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We verify the request by replying to that address and delete within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account record: email address, password hash, verification status, Terms-acceptance record, subscription status
- Your profile photo
- All sign-in sessions on every device
- Products you added to your account (the synced copy)
- Your ScanVeer Certified profiles, including business details and scanned inventory, and any pending review request
- The link between your account and Stripe / RevenueCat
- On the device where you delete: scan history, favorites, preferences, added products and cached data
- Any active web (Stripe) subscription is cancelled at the same time
What is retained, and why
- Products you shared with everyone stay in the community catalogue (they are product data other people rely on); your email on them is replaced with "deleted-user".
- Score reports, support tickets and brand correction tickets stay as records; your email on them is replaced with "deleted-user".
- Audit log entries for consent and deletion store a one-way hash of your email, not the address, so the fact that consent was given and the account deleted can be evidenced without identifying you.
- Payment records at Stripe, RevenueCat, Apple and Google are kept by those companies as required for tax and accounting law.
- Store subscriptions (Apple ID / Google Play) are not cancelled by deleting your ScanVeer account — cancel them in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings or you will keep being charged.
- Hosting and diagnostic logs at Vercel expire under the platform's retention and are not indexed by account.
